WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYINGAs I drove away from my last boot camp for the season (I am a snowbird), I thought back on the many changes that have taken place in my mind and body over the last 6 months. I loved this Maribel!!! great message today. And I love BOOTCAMP!!!!.....thanks so much for making such a great change in my life .... I find myself improving in many areas - even with exercise of which I am really dedicated.... I'm learning to listen to my body and push to improve without wearing myself out (I have that in my nature!!).... and with Healthy eating - every day I try to really think about what I am eating - I'm not always successful - but I am acknowledging it more and more .... and I find by just doing that - I am seeing positive progress and results!!.... I'm finding my 50's has brought me many challenges I didn't have before - like needing more sleep and having more "down" time - but I'm learning and growing and achieving - thanks to you and thanks to Bootcamp!!!.... I'm extremely happy that I found you!!!!!........ Hugs! and cya in the am! ..... Thank you again also for another outstanding Boot Camp this morning. I wanted to share with you, I had a small dinner party for my 3 besties on Friday. I took 4 recipes straight out of the Adventure Boot Camp Cook Book - the Roasted Pear Salad, Goat Cheese stuffed Chicken breast with raspberry and balsamic, coconut and cinnamon couscous, and the fruit salsa for dessert. While the effort involved in prepping that much food - especially for the first time - was herculean, the pay-off was even better. Every single item was absolutely scrumptious, and my friends raved about the delicious healthy gourmet!!!! Thanks for the cook book. If everyone in your Boot Camp hasn't bought it, they should. When I joined Maribel’s boot camp in March 2008, I thought I was fit. I just wanted something new to keep me motivated. I did not know how much it would change my life. Throughout my life I have attended many gyms and taken a lot of classes but none of them compare to boot camp. Now at the age of 60 I am in the best shape in 30 years. I can do pushups on my toes and I couldn’t do those even when I was in high school. Maribel is a great trainer, very encouraging as she pushes me to levels I never thought I could achieve. Then there are the fellow campers, we all cheer each other on and it’s great to see how much boot camp has changed their fitness levels. One of the great things about Adventure boot camp is that no matter what age or fitness level, everyone can workout, no one is left behind. The workout is different everyday which keeps me motivated. Two times each camp we do a pushup test and a timed mile run, once the end of the first week and then the last day of camp, this tracks our progress. I started out with over 11 minutes and can do a 10 minute mile now. I ran my first 5K last January and I did so good that I couldn’t wait to run another and I have placed 1st in my age group two times! I am also running 3-5 miles regularly. Never did I think I would be able to do anything like that. I have to credit Maribel and her Boot Camp. Hi Maribel, It was great talking to you today, I appreciate your time and knowledge so much!! Tara Paparo Before my joining North Palm Beach Bootcamp, my workouts were very ineffective and inconsistent. I found myself doing the same old thing over and over without any drive. In the past year, Maribel has brought a tremendous amount of enthusiasm, energy and experience to my workouts.I can honestly say that in 12 months, we've never done the same workout twice; I am constantly challenged by new exercises. The variety of exercise and the balanced approach Maribel has created has helped me in finding new ways to challenge myself. I was turning 39 and knew I needed to make a change regarding the way I was taking care of myself. I was eating all the wrong kinds of food and exercising was not even a thought for me. As a working mom with two kids, I had every excuse in the book not to exercise or eat right – I was too tired….I had to get this thing and that thing done for the kids….go to work….pick up the kids….take the kids to this event and that event….clean the house…cook dinner...the list of excuses was very, very long! I still knew I was out of shape and wanted to lose weight! So, in June 2008 I began Maribel’s boot camp. That was the month my life changed! Before going to boot camp I was so out of shape – I couldn’t run a half mile. I soon began feeling stronger and by the third month I was even able to run a 10K! I was feeling so much better and had so much more energy but I was not yet losing weight. I made a choice to follow Maribel’s advice regarding my diet! That, along with joining boot camp, was one of the smartest things I’ve ever done! The combination of regular exercise and clean eating changed everything! I lost a total of 17 lbs, 4% body fat and 14.5 inches! Thanks maribel!!!! I'm soooooo glad I joined your camp! You have made me feel so welcomed and I feel like there is no judgement on my current state of fitness (or lack there of). Beginning something like this can be intimidating for a newcomer, but I have had more fun in the last three days than I have had in three months!!! And I am NOT a morning person, but this camp has forced me to get moving really early, so I have already felt a dramatic change in my mood throughout the day! Love it!!!!! You are a wonderful leader, motivator and all-around life coach!!! Tiffany Cohen Hi Maribel- First thing I'd like to share with you is that today when I woke up , I experienced that "epiphany" day. Energy and stamina have finally returned !! I just feel so great ! You are the BEST fitness instructor I have ever worked with Maribel. The fact that I can run the course 2 times without having to stop and walk, without feeling pain and fear has taken me to another level mentally. Exercise shouldn't be a chore, it should be something a person WANTS to do. And that is exactly what your program does. It makes me want to wake up at the crack of dawn and enjoy the exercise. Thank you for all you do. I just wanted to say thanks for being so motivational. Some days it is hard and your encouragement makes it seem easier and seeing the results makes me want to work harder!! Thanks! Hi Maribel- Hope you had a nice weekend... Just wanted to share with you that I achieved one goal for myself...cholesterol!! The doctor said I am more heart healthy than a year ago..the only changes I made for the past 10 weeks was exercise and eating healthy. He told me "doctor's orders" keep it up! Many thanks, I had injured my back 7 years ago and had given up going to the gym and working out with weights, but now that my back was healed with the help of yoga I knew I needed to rebuild my strength but I just couldn't get myself to the gym. Then my friend Kim called and told me about an article she had read in the Palm Beach Post about Adventure Boot Camp. It sounded like a challenge and maybe just what I needed to re-start my gym workout. Boot Camp has really empowered me. I have never worked so hard and seen so much results in such a short period of time. The pace, the camaraderie, and the challenges each day made this an amazing experience. Maribel is so inspiring, so motivating and so creative that the hour flies by and before you know it you're on your mat doing your final stretches of the morning. And it feels so good to have worked out and showered by 7:30 am. I have more energy than I've had in years. Every woman should have at least one Boot Camp experience but I have to warn you it's addicting and I had to sign up for another session. Thank you Maribel, I’m surprising myself! Thank you for the support, it really means a lot. Maribel, I wanted to report I was able to wear a pair of pants today that used to be too small. (I think they are size 10) – that made me very happy and I’m also starting to see definition in my arms. I’m very happy with what I’m seeing and I’m very grateful for what you are doing with us. morning....I ran the loop without having to stop!! Every time in the past about half way I had to walk for a bit and then run again, but not today!! Thanks Maribel. I feel great today. I am enjoying the bootcamp (did I really just say that!). As a working Mom, it is nice to do something for myself now and then. Thanks for the encouragement. By the way, one of my goals is to fit into my cute jean skirt. |
